10 pounds of music in a 500 word blog post...

Some random things I ran across today that I think are pretty sweet.  Have a backlog of links, new songs, etc that I'm gonna get out later this week as well.  Let's do the damned thing:

Black Keys played SNL over the weekend and were impressive.  Dan looks creepy without a beard.  Everyone will be even more so all over them this year, and this cements it.  Enjoy both (via SKOA):

In the beginning...

Gonna give blogging a try, see where it takes me.  I'm told that I am a funny guy (by my mother), and now plan on forcing my ideas/interests upon the masses.  No idea if it will all be music, but i will try to make em all entertaining.

Saw this on okayplayer when I was linking them to the site and had to talk about it.  Last year I started getting back into Afrobeat big time (Fela, Antibalas, etc.) and came upon this Nigeria 70 compilation CD.  For anyone who enjoys horns and danceable tunes, this is as good as anywhere to start.  So this DJ Dhundee character has put together a mix of rap tracks that sample Fela.  Brilliant!
