Music for your Eyeballs

This post is strictly new music videos.
Think MTV...pre-Real World.

Hard Mix is hazy hip hop beat maker by way of South Carolina that Altered Zones has taken a liking to.  Below is a video for a song called "Eye Contact" and also a track I found on GvsB & PMA called "Now Her" that you should check out.  There is an upcoming 7" split coming out with Hard Mix and the artist I talk about next, Star Slinger.

I've talked about Star Slinger on here before, a sample DJ reminicent of Dilla himself.  Found a new video by him called "Mornin" on both Gorilla vs Bear & A Heart is A Spade:

I was admittedly late to the scene with Gold Panda, but I was blown away once I was.  Another act from the beat department, this video is off the Lucky Shiner album (via SKOA and P4K).  Enjoy:

Cut Copy premiered a video on Stereogum for a single of their latest album Zonoscope "Need You Know".  Those wacky Aussies...

Millionyoung does their thing on "Easy Now" over at yourstru.ly:

yvynyl hooked it up with some new videos from Work Drugs (which is a direct take on Rad Racer) and Cloud Nothings.  Both pretty sweet:

Another act I just literally found out about this past week via I Hope Your Ears Bleed, Walk the Moon, and it is damn catchy.  Tell me you don't feel the same way.  And how about those workout outfits, eh?

Flying Lotus has been throwing his hat into the director ring and his latest is a piece by Erykah Badu (via SKOA).  Me likey:
Not a music video, but I have to post on anything Diplo related by law.  And according to Mad Decent, he checked in at Carson Daly's show.  See I told you this was going to be like old school MTV!!

And lastly, my latest hip hop addiction is Odd Future in all its glory.  I found that Tyler the Creator "Yonkers" video to be quite entertaining.  You must watch their performance on Fallon last week that I found on Stereogum:

Remix Fire

A slew of remixes for your ear balls:

DJ Sega has been working his ass off round the clock in order to bring you this goodness.  Mad Decent had a nice write up about him today and so did Actual Records.  Check him, Ruxbin, SixTen & Co. at their monthly at the Dive.  Here are some of his latest:

Sick remix of Kanye's 'Runaway', which also shows up on the Sixer Series below

Sega's first undertaking in dubstep. Womp womp!

Just look at the tracklist.  Nuff said...

Got this remix and the first thing that came to mind was Dilla's "Donuts", this stuff is amazing.  UPDATE - And was giving it away for free, seems to have been taken down.  The EP is Rogue Cho Pa and the artist is called
Star Slinger:

Speaking of Dilla, here is some posthumous awesomeness from him and Madlib.  Found it on both 2dopeboyz and Pitchfork for the soundcloud:

Jaylib - Louder (Blast Your Radio Theme) by stonesthrow

Here are some other delectables for you as well:

Diplo spent a year gathering the stems for this remix, but it was worth it.  His take on Sleigh Bells "Tell Em" available for free download via Mad Decent

Lastly here is a free download of Duck Sauce's remix of "Hot Mess" by Chromeo from Stereogum which they got from Green Label Sound.  And here is the humorous video:

I want some sort of an endless summer

As swell as all this snow/sleet is and how awesome it makes getting around the city, I cannot effing wait to enjoy loud music in the summer.  Nothing better.  These songs have helped me get by:

Jillionaire got hit up by Malibu Rum and put out a sweet mixtape & gave out a free track, thanks Mad Decent - GET READY TO BOOM

How do you not trust the man who wears that suit?  Catchy latin music with a sick hook,  check out Coati Mundi - No More Blues

Found this El Guincho-esque gem on yvynyl about kids I think?  Maybe it's Chile's answer to Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs"...I could give two craps if I could translate a single word they were singing about.  The riff is stupendous:

Denver - Los Adolescences

Lastly, I found this hazy dream fest over on Altered Zones, Pitchfork's attempt to tap into some of the best music blogs from around the world.  Band's name is Troppical Paradise, nuff said:

The Neverending Bender (Part 2)

Its totally like that movie where I ride a mythical creature in the sky to my next destination.  Which happened to be the Mad Decent Block Party.  Missed last years for reasons unknown, but remembered how much fun I had two years ago and everything was just fallin into place.  My obsession with Diplo and all things MD are well documented and I push it on my friends AA 24/7.  I have a large puerto rican friend I chum around with who has also caught the fever and has been busy getting his business off the ground.  As the gods would have it, he magically had the day off.  I mentioned nothing of the fantasticness and ludacity (I'm starting my own dictionary) that would take place only that we were going to a block party on 12th and Spring Garden.  Here is what we were in store for:

Been So Funkin' Busy

A lot has happened, that is of interest to me, in the last week.  Phils have gone on a tear as of lately, finishing up a sweep of the Rockies today.  Training camp started for the birds.  Union, betrayed me, and played their biggest game of the year against Man U in a stadium other than the one that was built for them.  Those S.O.B's...see what I did there?  You can't teach that.

More to the fact, while most summers are normally devoid of concerts I'm pumped to see.  This summer has been jam packed full of them.  In the last week I jumped in on Kid Sister & GANG, unfortunately I missed majority of the xPonential festival which had some real good acts over 3 days, saw the spectacle that is Die Antwoord while being pleasantly surprised by Midnight Juggernauts at Vuvuzelafest 2k10, sweated my ass off at Deadmau5 (he apparently plays better when he's angry - Adv. Rusko), and capped it off by perusing the mart at the Punk Rock festival.  Some general thoughts:
  • GANG played a kick ass set which included a cover of "Killing in the Name Of".  You pull off Rage, you win in my book.  Kid Sister will be a big deal soon enough, IMO.
  • I'm over Die Antwoord, I'll admit I bought into the schtick but after Making Time on Friday, I have no doubt that they are not for real.  God bless the hype machine built around the Ninja & Co. but it's not cutting it.  Don't agree and think their sliced bread good, go read someone who may/may not also care.
  • Wearing an American flag mau5head was a bunch of dreams come true all at once.  They include loving/repping America hardcore, wearing costumes for no reason, and generally being the most awesome you can be at all times.  And yes, that's a Triple P shirt, that is how I roll.

To hear about the future read on...

New Fangled Moving Pictures of Music

Here are some sweet new videos for your viewing pleasure:

Tame Impala - Half Full Glass of Wine (via yvynyl/proaudiostar).  Seems like we are on the same page, because as I've mentioned here before I think this band is going to blow up.  Love that psych-rock sound.

Interpol is putting their new album out on Sept. 14th and here is a music video for the song ""(via Vulture):

Music Video for the first single off of Rusko's O.M.G "Hold On".  Probably the most mainstream of the tracks on this album.  Let us thank NME, Mad Decent, & Downtown Music:

Rusko - Hold On (feat. Amber Coffman) from Mad Decent on Vimeo.

Mixtape Galore!!

I know I need to get off Mad Decent, Diplo, etc dick, but you can't help it when he is from the area and just constantly putting out good stuff to listen to.  This is summer fire!  I guarantee.  Jay-Z, Ludacris, a new Major Lazer track, Rihanna, and to top it off a remix of Say it Ain't So by Weezer.  I mean how can you blame me for wanting to spread this fantasticness (is that a word?).  It is now.

Mad Decent for a Monday

As you may or may not know, DJ Sega and select others have been spinning at Fluid Monday nights for the better part of 2 months under the title "Mad Decent Mondays".  We, and by we I mean myself, here at exact CHANGE are big fans of majority of the stuff that comes off this label and will try and bring you a smattering of new stuff once a week from their site.  Below is our first, perhaps failed, attempt:

1. Diplo vs. Tiesto "C'mon"
2. Free Download of High Contrast remix of MIA's "Born Free"
3. New Rusko "O.M.G." album out now !
